Exceptional performance by EXO at Stadium Merdeka!
KUALA LUMPUR: Popular South Korean group, EXO put up a super energetic performance at Stadium Merdeka here. Thousands of screaming fans known as EXO-Ls packed the concert arena as early as noon today, bringing part of the traffic leading into the city to a standstill. The group, comprising Xiumin, Suho, Lay, Baekhyun, Chen, Chanyeol, D.O., Kai and Sehun, is here for the Malaysian leg of its world tour concert, dubbed The EXO Planet #2: The EXO'luXion World Tour Live in Malaysia 2016. Kicking off the three-hour concert with a live video montage with its futuristic theme, the group members performed Overdose, a fast-paced dance number. The fans, as expected, sang along while waving their glow sticks. "Are you all having a good time? Kuala Lumpur, you're so beautiful. All of you here are all so beautiful. We're so happy to be here," Suho said, before performing their slow ballad, Christmas Day. When EXO performed Playboy, a fireworks display was launched to the audiences' delight. Next came Baby Don't Cry which saw the entire stadium in a frenzy as Kai and Sehun took turns showing off their dance moves on a pool of water. EXO performed more than 30 songs. Among them were its well-known hits such as Wolf, Growl, Call Me Baby, Sing For You, Hurt, XOXO and Miracles In December. The group made its debut in 2012, and is one of the fastest selling South Korean artistes to date. The following year, the group performed here for the MTV World Stage. Its debut album, XOXO (released in 2013) had sold over a million copies worldwide. Last year, the group released their second album titled EXODUS. The EXO Planet #2: The EXO’luXion World Tour began in March last year, and it has since made stops in various Asian cities including Japan, China, Hong Kong, Macau, Thailand and Taiwan, and also some North American cities. The EXO Planet #2: The EXO’luXion World Tour Live in Malaysia 2016 is organised by Star Planet and presented by Spritzer Mineral Water and Robsonhill Residency.
